Details Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
The representatives from World Sight Journeys will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport upon your arrival. We then transfer you to the hotel for the overnight stay.
Day 02: Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu Valley and Pre-trip Preparation
Today, we spend the whole for the sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley. You will have the full day guided sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley covering the major cultural attractions which have also been cited as The World Heritage Cultural Sites. After having breakfast in the morning, we visit Pashupatinath, which is considered the holiest temple of Lord Shiva. We then head to Bauddhanath, which is also known as Little Tibet and also is one of the oldest and largest Buddhist Monastery in the world. Following the Bauddhanath Monastery, we visit Swayambhunath, the Monkey Temple, which is equally revered by Hindus and Buddhists. Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the west of Kathmandu. After exploring the Swayambhunath Stupa, we drive to Kathmandu (Basantpur) Durbar Square. If time allows, you can explore the city. Finally, you will have dinner at the hotel and stay there overnight.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Bhandar via Jiri (1905m) – 8 Hours
Early in the morning, we drive to Jiri from Kathmandu. Jiri is about 187 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu. From Jiri, we continue driving to Bhandar which will be the starting point of our trek. You can enjoy the panoramic views of Himalayas and Koshi River. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 04: Trek from Bhandar to Sete (2575m) – 7 Hours
Today, we descend the trail from Bhandar through deep forests crossing few streams and passing the small settlements of Dokharpa and Baranda. Climbing through the forests down to the Surma Khola, we reach the village of Kenja. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 05: Trek from Sete to Junbesi (2670m) – 7 Hours
We climb to Lamjura La passing through the forests. We also pass by the villages of Dachau and Goyem. Crossing Lamjura La, we descend down to Tragdobuk and then to Junbeshi. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 06: Trek from Junbesi to Nunthala (2220m) – 6 Hours
From Junbeshi, we start trekking and cross the stream beyond Junbeshi today. We then climb up the forest slope overlooking the glorious views of mountains. We eventually reach Nunthala where we stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 07: Trek from Nunthala to Bupsa (2360m) – 6 Hours
Today, we descend down the trail to Dudh Koshi. Crossing the bridge over Dudh Koshi River, we climb to Jubing and continue straight to Church. After that, we cross a suspension bridge passing through Kharikhola. We eventually reach Bupsa for our overnight stay.
Day 08: Trek from Bupsa to Surke (2290m) – 6 Hours
Today, we leave Bupsa and continue through a forest passing Kharte. We then take an uphill climb from Kharte crossing Khari La Pass. You will have a chance to enjoy the magnificent views of Khari La Pass of Gyachung Kang and Khumbila mountains among others. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 09: Trek from Surke to Phakding (2610m) – 5 Hours
Our trail today climbs towards Chaurikharka from Surke and then move up to Chhiplung and then down to Phakding. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 10: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m) – 6 Hours
We walk through the beautiful forest of pine today. And our walk leads us along the Dudhkoshi River bank through many suspension bridges. We will be crossing Hillary Suspension bridge which is one of the famous suspension bridges in that region. We will have enough opportunity to witness the wonderful views of Mount Thamserku (6618m) during the walk. Passing through the settlements of Benkar and Monjo, we eventually arrive at the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park. We still have a last village of Jorsale before reaching Namche. Following the trail ascending through the forests and bridges and overlooking the beautiful views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse, we continue our journey towards Namche. Namche is the gateway to Mount Everest and is also the main trading center of the region. We check into the guesthouse and stay there overnight.
Day 11: Acclimatization at Namche
Today is going to be a rest day at Namche. But, as our Health Experts suggest, we need to stay active and moving during the rest days instead of being idle. Hence, we either take a day hike to Thame or visit Khunde for purpose of proper acclimatization. We can even stay at Namche and explore the Bazaar itself. You can visit the Tourist Visitor Center near the Headquarter of Sagarmatha National Park where you can observe an assortment of things which are related to the First Everest Climbers and Sherpa Culture. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 12: Trek from Namche to Tyangboche (3870m) – 6 Hours
We continue trekking along the rushing glacial waters of Dudh Koshi, which eventually brings us to Tyangboche. You can visit the local monastery and can also get the opportunity to observe the prayer ceremony either in the morning or evening. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 13: Trek from Tyangboche to Dingboche (4360m) – 6 Hours
From Tyangboche, we drop to Debuche and then cross another exciting suspension bridge on Imja Khola. We then climb to Pangboche among thousands of Mani stones. Trekking further for about a couple of hours, we reach Dingboche. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 14: Trek from Dingboche to Dughla (4600m) – 4 Hours
From Dingboche, we ascend to Dughla through the Khumbu Khola Valle today. Walking along the arid terraces along the awesome mountain views surrounding us, we reach Dusa and then to Phulung Karpo. There is Chola Lake just above Phulung Karpo. We will have enough opportunity to enjoy the panorama of Mount Pumori, Nuptse, Cholatse, and Thamserku among others. We finally reach Dughla and stay there overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 15: Trek from Dughla to Lobuche (4940m) – 3 Hours
Trekking up to steep terminal moraine of Khumbu Glacier, we follow the trail through the ridge of Chupki Lhara. We eventually reach Lobuche where we stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 16: Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5170m) to EBC (5364m) and back to Gorakshep – 8 Hours
Today is going to be another big and difficult day trek along the Khumbu Glacier and up to the Everest Base Camp. You can get the closest view of Mount Everest from Khumbu Glacier and EBC. After spending little time at EBC, we track back to Gorakshep, where we stay overnight.
Day 17: Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapatthar (5545m) to Pheriche (4280m) – 8 Hours
Actually, this day is going to be one of the most difficult yet rewarding treks. We make an early start to reach the best viewpoint of Kalapatthar. You can get the amazing mountain panorama from this viewpoint. After enjoying the amazing views from Kalapatthar, we return back to Pheriche. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 18: Trek from Pheriche to Tyangboche to Namche Bazaar (3440m) – 6 Hours
From Pheriche, we take the slightly different route down to Orsho today. We reach Pangboche where you can explore the oldest monastery in the region. The monastery is said to contain the scalp and bones of abominable snowman Yeti. We leave Tyangboche Monastery and finally arrive at Namche. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 19: Trek from Namche to Lukla (2800m) – 7 Hours
From Namche, we return back to Lukla. With this, we mark the end of our trekking. We stay overnight at guesthouse.
Day 20: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
We get the scheduled morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla. The flight is going to be very scenic and adventurous. On arriving Kathmandu, you can take your time to go for your last minute shopping or you can choose to explore the city even more. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 21: Final Departure
Today, you take the returning flight to your hometown. Our representatives will assist you to reach the airport. You return to your home with an unforgettable travel experience in Nepal.
