Overview

Langtang Ganjala Pass Trekking is one of the interesting trekking packages in Nepal. Langtang Valley and Ganjala Pass offer very exciting trekking destinations in the Langtang Region of Nepal. This trek also lets you make an excursion to Tserko Ri at the altitude of 5000m which offers the stunning views of Langtang range. Langtang Ganja La Pass Trek offers you to pass through the majestic waterfalls, snow-capped mountains, and beautiful lush green forests of rhododendrons and bamboo.

We begin Langtang Ganjala Pass Trekking with our bus ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubeshi. And Syabrubeshi is where our actual trek begins. We continue through Lama Hotel, Langtang Village, and Kyangin Gompa and then to cross the mighty Ganja La Pass. After crossing the pass, we trek down to Melamchi Pul Bazaar. Details Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival and Check-in to the Hotel

The representatives from World Sight Journeys will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport upon your arrival. We then transfer you to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour

Today, we spend the whole for the sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley. You will have the full day guided sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley covering the major cultural attractions which have also been cited as The World Heritage Cultural Sites. After having breakfast in the morning, we visit Pashupatinath, which is considered the holiest temple of Lord Shiva. We then head to Bauddhanath, which is also known as Little Tibet and also is one of the oldest and largest Buddhist Monastery in the world. Following the Bauddhanath Monastery, we visit Swayambhunath, the Monkey Temple, which is equally revered by Hindus and Buddhists. Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the west of Kathmandu. After exploring the Swayambhunath Stupa, we drive to Kathmandu (Basantpur) Durbar Square. If time allows, you can explore the city. Finally, you will have dinner at the hotel and stay there overnight.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubeshi (1462m) – 8 Hours

We start our 8 hours long drive to Syabrubeshi from Kathmandu today. On the way, we can witness the scenic foothills and ridgeline splendors to Syabrubeshi passing Dhunche. The beautiful glimpse of Ganesh Himal and terraced green hills along with the lush green forests will allure you during the drive. We check into the hotel upon reaching Syabrubeshi and stay overnight.

Day 04: Trek from Syabrubeshi to Lama Hotel (2500m) – 5 Hours

Today will be the first day of our trekking. We follow the Langtang Khola river and pass through the dense forest crossing several suspension bridges en route. We also pass by some tea houses and eventually reach Lama Hotel where we stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 05: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3307) – 5 Hours

Today, we continue through the dense forests and then make a steady climb up through the valley. Leaving the tree line behind us, we walk further overlooking some of the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung. We finally arrive at Langtang village, where we stay overnight at a local guesthouse.

Day 06: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3798m) – 4 Hours

Today, it’s going to a shorter walk but it’s adequate for acclimatizing. Today, we will find some very interesting things to explore. You can explore some popular cheese factories in this beautiful valley situated at the lap of Langtang Lirung. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 07: Acclimatization at Kyanjin Gompa

We take our time this morning to explore the natural sceneries around Kyangin Gompa. And if you are interested, we will guide you to climb Tserko Ri from where you can have some splendid views of mountains around. After that, we visit Langtang Glacier and Langshikha which is beautiful yak pasture land. Finally, we get back to Kyangin Gompa for the overnight stay at the same lodge.

Day 08: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Ngegang (4000m) – 5 Hours

Our trail goes on ascending and the area is covered with little natural vegetation. You will see no villages in this area. So, we set up our tented accommodation to stay tonight.

Day 09: Trek from Ngegang to Keldang (4300m) via Ganja La (5200m) – 6 Hours

It’s going to be comparatively more strenuous trek today as you have to cross Ganja La Pass which is covered with snowy ice in most months. We stay overnight at the tented camps.

Day 10: Trek from Keldang to Dukpu (4080m) – 7 Hours

From Keldang, we walk along the ridge and grassland overlooking some amazing views of Himalayas. We will set up our camping site in the forest near Dukpu, where we stay overnight.

Day 11: Trek from Dhokpu to Tarkegyang (2560m) – 7 Hours

Today, our trail descends slightly before climbing over a pass of over 4100m from where you can enjoy the spectacular views of Annapurna and the Everest regions. Our trail descends through the forests of pine and rhododendron and the pass through the tiny settlement of Tarkegyang. In Tarkegyang, you can visit one of the oldest Buddhist Monasteries and Sherpa villages. We stay overnight at guesthouse.

Day 12: Trek from Tarkegyang to Sermathang (2621m) – 6 Hours

Today, our trail is going to be quite easy through flat land. On the way, we pass through the beautiful forests and small streams. We visit a beautiful village of Shermathang where you can see several ancient monasteries and the beautiful views of Jugal Himal Range on the north side of the village. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 13: Trek from Sermathang to Melamchi Pul Bazaar (846m) – 5 Hours

Our trail gradually descends all the way to Melamchi Pul Bazaar through meadows and cultivated fields. We come across several old villages overlooking the quite pleasant views of great mountains. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
