Overview
Langtang Goshaikunda Lake Trekking is one of the most popular trekking packages in Nepal. It’s the pilgrimage trek of Holy Lake Goshaikunda. Langtang Goshaikunda Lake trek is considered as of the difficulty of the moderate level and it requires prior trekking experience and good physical condition. This trek covers Langtang valley and Holi Pilgrimage Lake of Goshainkunda. Langtang Valley is renowned as the valley of glaciers and you can also get the close-up views of Langtang Lirung and several glaciers from there. Langtang National Park offers the amazing variety of flora and fauna and such a wonderful local culture.
Goshaikunda is a beautiful lake and is considered as one of the holiest mountain lakes at the altitude of 4380m from the sea level. It’s a sacred lake for both Hindus and Buddhists. The pilgrims gather around Goshaikunda area every year especially on full-moon of the August. They believe that by taking bath in this holy lake, people get holy revelation. It takes around 45 minutes to circumambulate Goshaikunda Lake. Goshaikunda actually is an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake in the Langtang region of Nepal.
Langtang Goshaikunda Lake trekking is the amazing and adventurous blend of Langtang Region Trekking and Goshainkunda Lake Trekking. This trek offers you the diversity of spectacular views of the Himalayas with a vast number of exciting ethnic encounters. We can have the splendid views of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Langtang II and the other Himalayas during the trek. This trek also provides us an opportunity to visit some of the splendid Buddhist monasteries and the delightful villages of Tarkegyang and Sermathang. Starting from Syabrubeshi, we follow the route to Langtang Valley and then explore the Kyanjing Gompa and the valley itself. We then enter into Goshainkunda region, where you will have an extraordinary trekking experience for your lifetime. After exploring the holy Goshainkunda, we return back and end up trekking at Dhunche.

Details Itinerary
Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival and Check-in to the Hotel
The representatives from World Sight Journeys will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport upon your arrival. We then transfer you to the hotel for the overnight stay.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour
Today, we spend the whole for the sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley. You will have the full day guided sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley covering the major cultural attractions which have also been cited as The World Heritage Cultural Sites. After having breakfast in the morning, we visit Pashupatinath, which is considered the holiest temple of Lord Shiva. We then head to Bauddhanath, which is also known as Little Tibet and also is one of the oldest and largest Buddhist Monastery in the world. Following the Bauddhanath Monastery, we visit Swayambhunath, the Monkey Temple, which is equally revered by Hindus and Buddhists. Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the west of Kathmandu. After exploring the Swayambhunath Stupa, we drive to Kathmandu (Basantpur) Durbar Square. If time allows, you can explore the city. Finally, you will have dinner at the hotel and stay there overnight.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubeshi (1462m) – 8 Hours
We start our 8 hours long drive to Syabrubeshi from Kathmandu today. On the way, we can witness the scenic foothills and ridgeline splendors to Syabrubeshi passing Dhunche. The beautiful glimpse of Ganesh Himal and terraced green hills along with the lush green forests will allure you during the drive. We check into the hotel upon reaching Syabrubeshi and stay overnight.
Day 04: Trek from Syabrubeshi to Lama Hotel (2500m) – 5 Hours
Today will be the first day of our trekking. We follow the Langtang Khola river and pass through the dense forest crossing several suspension bridges en route. We also pass by some tea houses and eventually reach Lama Hotel where we stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 05: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3307) – 5 Hours
Today, we continue through the dense forests and then make a steady climb up through the valley. Leaving the tree line behind us, we walk further overlooking some of the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung. We finally arrive at Langtang village, where we stay overnight at a local guesthouse.
Day 06: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3798m) – 4 Hours
Today, it’s going to a shorter walk but it’s adequate for acclimatizing. Today, we will find some very interesting things to explore. You can explore some popular cheese factories in this beautiful valley situated at the lap of Langtang Lirung. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 07: Explore around Kyanjin Gompa and Climb to TserkoRi (5150m)
We take our time this morning to explore the natural sceneries around Kyangin Gompa. And if you are interested, we will guide you to climb TserkoRi from where you can have some splendid views of mountains around. After that, we visit Langtang Glacier and Langshikha which is beautiful yak pasture land. Finally, we get back to Kyangin Gompa for the overnight stay at the same lodge.
Day 08: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to GhodaTabela
From KyanginGompa, we retrace our steps to GhodaTabela. You will enjoy the scenic and pleasant walking today. On reaching GhodaTabela, we check in to the guesthouse to stay overnight.
Day 09: Trek from GhodaTabela to Bamboo
Walking down through Lama Hotel and the forests of rhododendron along the Bhotekoshi Riverbank, we eventually reach Bamboo. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 10: Trek from Bamboo toThulosyabru
We continue retracing our steps some of the ways to Thulosyabru today. We ascend a steep path through the forests witnessing the beautiful views of Thulosyabru village with its extensive area of millet terraces.On reaching Thulosyabru, you will be able to catch the glimpses of Tamang life. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 11: Trek from Thulosyabru to Sing Gompa
It’s going to be on a steep climb from Thulosyabru through the forest of oak and rhododendron to the top of a ridge. From the top, it’s only a short descent to Sing Gompa. We will explore the Buddhist Monastery in there. Don’t forget, Sing gompa is also popular for local Cheese. We stay overnight at a local lodge.
Day 12: Trek from Sing Gompa to Goshaikunda
From Sing gompa, we ascend mountain flank with bare trees after having breakfast in the morning. We then cross the ridge and then pass through the forest full of mosses and ferns. As we reach to Lauribinayak, we can have some really spectacular views of Dhaulagiri, Ganesh Himal, Annapurna Range, and Langtang Lirung. Remember, this is going to be the best viewpoint for the entire trek. After crossing the ridge of Saraswati Kunda, you can witness the first view of the series of Lakes dedicated to different divinities. Actually, Goshaikunda is the third lake which is considered equally sacred to both Buddhists and Hindus. We stay overnight at tented accommodation.
Day 13: Trek from Goshaikunda to Dhunche
We trek back down direct to Dhunche today. We will be following the path between the forest and only a few houses via Sing Gompa. On reaching Dhunche, we check in to the lodge and stay overnight.
Day 14: Drive back to Kathmandu from Dhunche
We drive back to Kathmandu from Dhunche today. On arriving Kathmandu, we transfer you to the hotel. If time allows, you can also go for the last minute shopping in Kathmandu. We celebrate the farewell dinner with our team tonight.
Day 15: Final Departure
Today, you take the returning flight to your hometown. Our representatives will assist you to reach the airport. You return to your home with an unforgettable travel experience in Nepal.
