Mera Peak Climbing
Overview
Mera peak climbing is one of the exhilarating peak climbing activities of Khumbu region. The climbing will offer its visitors with the exceptionally beautiful and stunning beautiful view of the surrounding with the glittering mountains combined with the green forest at its waist. The Mera peak being situated at Khumbu region has successfully gained its prestige along with its beautiful landscapes despite being in the region of Mt. Everest dominant place. Mera peak has only the height of 64641m which looks very small among the mountains of 8000m like Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse and Cho Oyu. While trekking in this region, the trekkers need to be fit from both mind and body. We need better physique along with strong legs to climb over to the beautiful but risky mountains of Khumbu region. We need to stay several nights at tented camp while trekking in this region. Therefore, we should carry the necessary equipment with us. World Sight Journey will arrange all the necessary things for climbing during our tour to this place.
The trekking to the beautiful place of Khumbu starts from Kathmandu with the flight over to Lukla. Then the path will go towards the Paiya, Pangkoma, Nigmsa, Chetrakhola, Kothe, Tangnang and to the beautiful landscapes of Mera peak. The season of autumn and spring is best to trek at this region. The trekking to this region with the group member of World Sight Journey will be fun and entertaining by the way.
Details Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu at TIA, a representative of World Sight Journey will warmly welcome you to Nepal. She/he will guide you towards the hotel room of Nepal. The day can be either rest day or some sightseeing day of Kathmandu. The night will be at the hotel by discussing the tour and enjoying the delicious dinner.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Paiya
Early morning, we will catch the flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. Throughout the flight, we will enjoy the view of great ranges of the mountain through the flight. The view of snow capped mountains from the top will obviously interesting. After landing at Lukla, we will walk through the Jungle to reach to Paiya at 2730m. We will begin to see numbers of peaks with the early trekking from Lukla to Paiya.
Day 03: Paiya to Pangkoma
From Paiya, we will march towards the wooden bridge and to the slippery land of Kari la pass. We will continue our journey through the beautiful forest of rhododendron and bamboo. We will have a glorious view of mountains from the trail. The glorious view of Dudh Koshi river will surely mesmerize us. We will be at Pangkongama for the resting night at 2850m.
Day 04: Pangkoma to Shibuche
Early morning, we will move our feet further towards the Shibuche. The trekking may go for about 4 to 5 hours long through the forest of rhododendron. We will be offered with the mesmerizing view of Mera peak during the trek. Finally, we will be at Nigmsa at the end of the day.
Day 05: Trek to Chhatra Khola
From Nigmsa, we will start our trek through the steep and sloppy trail which goes towards the narrow and mountain trail. We will be served with delicious breakfast along the way. The trail will follow much beautiful forest of rhododendron and bamboo. We will stay the night at Chhatra Khola.
Day 06: Chhatra Khola to Kothe
From Chhatra Khola, we will move towards the Hinku valley from where the splendid view of nature can be seen. Straight through the bamboo forest, we will enjoy the mesmerizing view of Mera peak. Then passing Tashing Dingma through the tea shops and ahead of the Hinku valley, we will arrive at Kothe at 3600m.
Day 07: Kothe to Tangnang
From Kothe, with the early morning sun, we will begin our journey. We will move through the beautiful ridge of Hinku Khola in the shadow of Mera peak. We will be served by the lunch on the way. Viewing some beautiful monasteries and the glorious view of mountains will mesmerize us. We will continue until we reach to Tangnang at 4350m.
Day 08: Tangnang to Khare
From Tangnang, the trail goes towards the beautiful glacial rivers viewing some spectacular view of Charpate Himal. The trail gradually climbs up to Khare. Khare is the best camping place of that territory. From here, we will view the beautiful north face of Mera peak.
Day 09: Khare to Mera peak base camp
From Khare, we walk through the main trail of the Mera peak base camp. We need to trek through the steep trail which will go for about 3 to 4 hours long. We will be excited by the closer view of Mera peak. We should continue our way for 3 to 4 hours to achieve our destination. The night will be at the tented camp of Mera peak base camp.
Day 10: Base camp to High camp
After spending a night at the tented camp of Mera peak base camp, we will move towards the height with some patience and strength. Every step of us will lead us much closer to the beautiful Mera peak summit. We will trek for about 4 to 5 hours in the snowy trail from the base camp to high camp.
Day 11: High camp to Mera peak summit and back to Khare
Today is the key day of our trekking. We will start the day much earlier than ever. We need to walk for about 8 to 9 hours today to achieve our dream. We will continue our journey until we reach the top from where we will be pleased to view the panoramic view around the region. We will return back to Khare through the descending way to rest and to clear the night relaxing at the land of Himalayas.
Day 12: Khare to Kothe
After achieving our dream, we will move towards the lowland of Kothe. We will leave the beautiful Mera peak at its natural position and will carry the memory with us. We will make the return journey through the Hinku valley to Kothe. The night will be somewhere at Kothe.
Day 13: Kothe to Thuli Kharka
From Kothe, we will climb for about 2 hours to reach to Thuli Kharka through the forest of rhododendron. We will make our journey viewing the magnificent view of mountain ranges of Mera peak in our side screen during the trek. We will be at Thuli Kharka within the passage of about 5 to 6 hours. The night will be at Thuli Kharka.
Day 14: Thuli Kharka to Lukla
From Thuli Kharka we will make a hike for about 2 hours which will lead us to the high land of Zatrwa la pass. From the pass, we will see the blessing of nature in the land of Lukla valley. We will see many beautiful ranges of mountains by our naked eyes while trekking at the Lukla village. We will enjoy the last dinner at the land of Himalayas at Lukla. The night will be spectacular at Lukla.
Day 15: Lukla to Kathmandu
Early morning, we will wake up at Lukla and will have our last breakfast at the land of the Himalayas. Then we will catch the flight over to Kathmandu. The flight goes for about 45 minutes. The leisure time will be spending in doing shopping or visiting the market.
Day 16: Farewell
After having a relaxing night at Kathmandu, finally, the day of returning back to our home country and busy schedule has come with the ending of our glittering tour over to the highlands of Nepal. World Sight Journey will organize a small farewell program at the airport and will help for any inconvenience that may arise during the departure. We wish for your better journey ahead.
